To install the Switchboard ELD application, follow the below steps to install it on your phone or tablet. 

The minimum requirements for a mobile device for the Switchboard ELD are:

- Android OS 4.4 and above
- Bluetooth 4.0 and above
- GPS chip installed

Some devices like Samsung Galaxy Tab A, Galaxy E Lite, RCA, Amazon Fire tablets do not due to missing the above requirements.

 Click on the Play Store Application on your driver's cell phone. 

 Once you click on the app, it will take you to the installation page. Now click on "

" to install the app onto your android device. 

 Once you open the application then the system will ask you to accept a few permissions. Click on Allow/Accept for all the permissions that are shown for the smooth performance of the application. In order the access and accept permissions, please hold on to the Switchboard App and it will give you the "

 Once you click on the "App Info" option it will take you to the Switchboard application information page. Once you scroll down on the page you will be able to see the Not Allowed Section where you can find the list of items to give the permissions. So please click on them one by one and allow the permissions to access the app. 

Now the Driver can be able to access the application. 

If you're a company driver then your company will provide you with the username and password. You can be able to input that username and password in the respective fields to log in to the app.

If you are an owner operating and logging in for the first time then you should click on the SIGNUP button in Pink color to register the company on the switchboard platform.

Tablet Mount Installation

Switchboard ELD devices are connected to the diagnostic port of the truck.

Switchboard offers different cables depending on the type/make/model/year of your vehicle. To find out which cable you should use, go here:

To connect the ELD module with the ELD cable, follow the steps below:

Identify the latch connection on the ELD device. If you can see the ELD image below it should be side of the ELD device. 

Identify the end of the cable to connect with the ELD device, for example, let us take the RP1226 connector, please see the below image to find the connecting end. 

Connect the ELD module with ELD cable as shown below, make sure that you hear the click sound once you connect the cable and the ELD module. 

Connect the End of the ELD cable to the trucks diagnostic port as shown in the picture below. 

Once you connect the ELD module to the trucks Diagnostics port, turn on the truck, there will be light on the ELD module. Wait for the light to become sold then open the Switchboard app and connect it with the module.

Installing the ELD Engine Module

Owner-operators can use the Switchboard ELD Mobile App to register and get set up. 

The steps below show how to set up an account and get rolling with Switchboard ELDs.

As soon as the driver or the owner-operator clicks on the Switchboard APP, they will find a CREATE ACCOUNT option. By clicking on that CREATE ACCOUNT option the Sign Up process of registering the company begins. 

 As soon as the owner-operator clicks on the CREATE ACCOUNT option below page pops up. Now the owner-operator has to enter his/her Name, choose a password, and enter a phone number to get the 

: In this section Owner-operators should add their driver's license information

  The owner-operator should enter the DOT/ NSC number in this section. If the Owner operator has no information about these details then they can leave this place blank. The information provided in this section will show up on the daily logs of the driver.

Now enter the company information, this information will be saved on the owner-operator profile and will be displayed on the logs. 

 Once the registration is done, there will be a Driver App username and password will be sent to the Owner operator's cell phone. He/She can use that login credentials to log in to the Switchboard Drivers app.

Owner-Operator Account Registration

Once the Driver has the login details from the office, they can use the following steps to login to the Switchboard Driver application.

Click on the Switchboard on the Android device. Note, if the driver has the Custom Switchboard tablet then as soon as the tablet is powered on then the login page appears. Please see the below login screen image. Enter the Username and Password in the box shown below. 

Now the driver can able to see the page where he can select the vehicles, and trailers and enter the shipment Id. 

To create the new unit number from the driver's app, drivers can click on the truck unit number or the trailer unit number, so a page shows up to create/ add the new unit. Please see the image below. 

Once the driver clicks on the Truck number from the above-shown image, then the below 

 page shows up where you can select the type of vehicle and then click on done then it will show up on the list. 

Once the driver clicks on the trailer number from the above-shown image from step 2, then the below 

 page shows up where you can select the type of vehicle and then click on done then it will show up on the list.

 Once the Truck number, trailer number, and shipment Id are entered then the driver can scan to connect the Engine module in this step. The scan will show the ELD modules available, the name should start with PT30. Driver can click on that and click on FINISH.

 Once the driver connects to the engine module then the application guide opens up to show the driver how to navigate through different options. Please check the image below. 

 As soon as the driver has done viewing the guide the main page shows up with all the tabs.

Logging into the ELD App

Switchboard ELDs support Team Drivers / Co-Drivers. 

Follow the steps below ensure your team is recorded properly in your hours-of-service logs.
